SUMMARY OF MESSAGE:
In her World Day of Prayer message this week, Rev. Stacy Macris Ros taught that Divine Love is not something outside of us—it is the very essence of God alive within us and all creation. Prayer helps us become still enough to remember that truth and recognize the sacred connection we share with every living being.
Rev. Stacy shared how powerfully she experienced that connection during her recent Alaskan cruise. One morning, a whale surfaced near the ship, and hundreds of strangers responded with a collective gasp of wonder and childlike joy. As she watched people rush to the windows, captivated by this magnificent creature, tears filled her eyes. For one beautiful moment, everyone was connected by awe, joy and a shared love of nature.
Throughout the journey—whether witnessing glaciers and wildlife or simply laughing, celebrating and being silly with strangers—Rev. Stacy saw reminders that love expands joy, and joy brings love alive. Human beings need one another—to support one another, celebrate together, grieve together and share the sacred experience of being alive.
But Rev. Stacy taught that experiencing love is only the beginning. Jesus called us to “love one another as I have loved you,” and his life demonstrated what that looks like in action. He welcomed the stranger, embraced those society rejected, loved both neighbor and enemy, and taught people to treat others as they themselves wished to be treated.
In a world of anger, division and sorrow, Rev. Stacy invited each person to consciously live from that same love. When we express who we truly are, respect our differences, support one another and come together in shared joy, we allow the Divine Love within us to become visible in the world.
We shouldn’t wait for more love to appear in the world. It’s up to each of us to bring it alive. Through our actions, our beingness and our presence, Love is Alive!
