MESSAGE SUMMARY:
During today’s Sunday service, Rev. Stacy Macris Ros began a new 3-week series, “Metaphysical Movie Fun.” In today’s message, she focused on four spiritual lessons we can glean from the beloved classic, “The Sound of Music.”
1) Have the courage to be your authentic self and follow the call of your heart. Like Maria, we may discover that our gifts are needed somewhere different than we expected. When life redirects us, we can trust that Divine guidance is leading us toward the people and places where our unique gifts can serve most fully.
2) We are meant to live in community. We are all expressions of the same Divine Energy, connected in Oneness. Especially during difficult times, we need one another—to offer support, loving kindness and peace, and to remind each other to practice gratitude even in life’s storms.
3) Make room for play, joy and the present moment. Reconnecting with our childlike spirit restores our energy and helps us experience the life happening right now. Doing so isn’t an escape from difficulty; genuine growth asks us to face our feelings, heal what needs healing and take meaningful action.
4) Music has the power to connect and heal us. When we live authentically, surround ourselves with supportive community, embrace joy and allow our unique “song” to be expressed, we contribute to the harmony of the whole—and create lives of greater peace, joy and purpose.
