MESSAGE SUMMARY:

Today Rev. Richard Maraj challenged us to ask a profound question: Are we intentionally creating our lives, or simply drifting through them?

Too often, we become trapped in routines, responsibilities and expectations, settling for lives we never consciously chose. Years later, we find ourselves wondering, “How did I get here?”

There are four common barriers that generally keep us stuck:

  1. Comfort zones that prioritize safety over growth;
  2. Success that breeds complacency;
  3. Fear of uncertainty that makes the familiar seem preferable to possibility; and
  4. The desire to please others instead of living authentically.

The good news is that we always have the power to choose a different path!

Rev. Richard offered four practical steps to begin living with greater intention:

  1. Wake up by honestly examining your life and becoming aware of where you’ve been living on autopilot.
  2. Own your life by accepting responsibility for your choices and recognizing that your future is not determined by your past.
  3. Get in motion, because clarity comes through action. Progress begins the moment we take the first step.
  4. Build a better future by creating intentional habits, strengthening your spiritual foundation and refusing to postpone joy until “someday.”

The greatest resource we possess already lives within us. God’s wisdom, guidance and power are not found somewhere outside ourselves—they are within, waiting to be expressed.

The invitation is simple yet transformative: stop drifting through life by default. Wake up. Choose consciously. Take action. And begin creating a life filled with purpose, joy and spiritual possibility—starting today.
