Today Rev. Richard Maraj continued his series on “Lessons from A Course in Miracles,” this week focusing on two transformative lessons: “I will not hurt myself again today” and “Giving love is how I keep it.”

Rev. Richard’s central message reminded us that true healing begins within. By taking responsibility for our thoughts, deepening our relationship with God, and intentionally expressing love, we can move beyond fear, self-judgment and victim consciousness into a life of greater peace, joy and spiritual freedom.

STOP HURTING YOURSELF
Much of our suffering is created not by other people or life’s circumstances, but by our own thoughts. Negative self-talk, guilt, shame and victim consciousness disconnect us from God’s presence and rob us of peace and joy. If we want a better life, we must take responsibility for our thoughts, healing and happiness rather than giving our power away.

We stop hurting ourselves by:

  • Accepting Responsibility for our thoughts, choices and emotional well-being.
  • Committing to Joy instead of blame, judgment and complaining.
  • Putting God First by developing a daily relationship with the Divine that becomes the foundation for every other relationship.

As our thinking becomes aligned with God’s love, we naturally become finders of love, good and gratitude.

GIVING LOVE IS HOW YOU KEEP IT
Unlike material things that diminish when shared, love operates according to divine law—it grows the more we give it away. Every act of kindness, compassion, forgiveness and generosity expands the flow of love within us and blesses both the giver and the receiver.

We are called to intentionally express love:

  • To the people we already love.
  • To those we find difficult to love.
  • To people we don’t know.
  • To ourselves through self-compassion and self-care.

As we replace fear and self-judgment with thoughts of peace, joy and abundance, and freely express God’s love in our daily lives, we experience greater happiness, healthier relationships and a deeper awareness of our oneness with God.
