During this week’s Wednesday evening service, Rev. Stacy Macris Ros continued our series inspired by the Eric Butterworth book, “In the Flow of Life.” She reminded us that we are always in the divine flow; the Divine is already within us! Our spiritual work is to open ourselves up to it, trust it, and allow it to move freely through our giving, relationships and responses to life’s challenges.
GIVING
Giving becomes a spiritual practice when it flows from love rather than obligation. The energy behind what we offer matters as much as the gift itself. When we freely share our time, talents, kindness and resources, we become willing channels for divine love. This generous way of being opens us to greater good and allows love to circulate through our lives and relationships.
LOVING
Harmony in our relationships begins within us. When someone pushes our buttons, the encounter can reveal where we have lost awareness of our own loving nature. We can pause, reconnect with Divine Presence and choose peace over reactivity.
Remembering our own imperfections helps us extend grace and compassion to ourselves and others. Recognizing the divinity in every person invites greater understanding and kindness. Loving others also includes honoring our own life energy; sometimes the healthiest choice is to release a relationship and move forward.
LIVING
Life continually changes, and resisting that movement can keep us stuck in suffering. We can accept the reality of a difficult situation without accepting its permanence. Instead of dwelling in the darkness of a challenge, we can remember past blessings, recognize possibilities ahead and ask what the experience can teach us.
Every challenge offers an opportunity to deepen our wisdom, strengthen our faith and expand our spiritual understanding. Our daily practice is to notice where we resist life’s flow and ask what we are being invited to release, learn or embrace. Although we cannot control every circumstance, we can choose how we meet it—and become greater expressions of love in the world
