MESSAGE SUMMARY:
During today’s Sunday service, Rev. Richard Maraj continued his series inspired by the Catherine Ponder book, “Open Your Mind to Receive.”
This week, Rev. Richard focused on two additional spiritual practices that open the way to greater prosperity: prophecy and expectancy.
PROPHECY
Prophecy isn’t simply predicting the future; it’s something we practice every day through the words we speak and the pictures we hold in our minds. Casual statements such as “Things never work out for me” or “I’m not good at this” can become unconscious declarations about what we expect to experience … and consequently, ultimately become what we attract.
Instead, we can consciously “prophesy” greater good through affirmations and intentional language that declare who we want to be and what we want to create. Imagination is part of that process, too. By clearly envisioning the life and qualities we desire, we direct our consciousness toward possibility rather than limitation.
EXPECT NOTHING BUT THE BEST
Expectancy means refusing to settle for “good enough” when greater possibilities are available. It is the willingness to continually expand, grow and expect a fuller expression of love, joy, health, prosperity and personal potential. That begins by changing our consciousness — shifting our attention away from disappointment, worst-case scenarios, unworthiness and limitation and toward what is good, possible and capable of becoming even better.
As we raise our expectations for ourselves and our lives, we become more receptive to opportunities and possibilities we may not have seen before. Expecting the best is ultimately an expression of faith: believing that greater good is available to us; that we are worthy of receiving it; and that our lives can continue to improve, expand and transform.
By consciously speaking the good, visualizing the good and expecting the good, we open our minds and hearts to receive the greater possibilities life has to offer.
