DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, April 1\, 2026\,  A Hike Based Upon the Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail \nThe Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail is a wonderful loop hike located at the nearby Lookout Mountain section of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.  As compared to the 2.4-mile trail as published on All-Trails\, this hike will start at the parking lot in the south-eastern corner of the park\, and our hike leader\, Jane Boyd\, will vary from the route to increase the total distance to 4-5 miles.  She has also indicated that this hike will not include a climb to the top of Lookout Mountain. \nDate/Time: Wednesday\, April 1\, 2026\, 8:00 a.m.  (Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in) \nHike Leaders:  Jane Boyd 602-989-6230\nHenry Klimkowski 609-502-2008\nPlease RSVP to Henry at HenryK_Jr@hotmail.com \nArea: Lookout Mountain Park \nTrail Name: Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail \nMap: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/arizona/lookout-mountain-circumference-trail \nDistance: 2.4 miles per All-Trails  (Jane intends to increase this to 4-5 miles\, including the distance from the parking lot and back.) \nElevation Gain: 331 feet (for the map as published on All-Trails) \nDifficulty: Moderate \nAddress/Directions: The parking lot near the southeast corner of Lookout Mountain Park: 1898 E. Evans Drive\, Phoenix\, AZ. There is a Harley-Davidson shop on Cave Creek Road located about halfway between Thunderbird Rd. & Greenway Pkwy\, at the northeast corner of E. Sharon Rd. From here\, proceed westbound on E. Sharon Road for 0.4 miles and make a right onto N. 18th Street.  Proceed 0.5 miles north to the park entrance on the right at E. Evans Road.   The parking lot is straight ahead. \nMeeting Location:  The rock garden on the right side of the parking lot. \nDescription:  From All-Trails: (4.6 stars) “Highlights include beautiful views\, well-marked paths\, and a moderate challenge. Rocky terrain and loose gravel are mentioned as obstacles. Reviewers recommend bringing water and wearing hiking boots. ” \nAmenities/Inconveniences:  Drinking fountains\, restrooms\, and shade structures. \nDogs:  Dogs on a leash are welcome.
