DESCRIPTION:This class meets on six consecutive Tuesdays: Oct. 20-Nov. 24 from 7-8:30 p.m.\nThe $90 class fee covers all six sessions\nExplore the fascinating spiritual teachings of Edgar Cayce\, known as the “sleeping prophet” and one of the most documented psychics of the 20th century. In this six-week class\, John Schroeder will draw from Cayce’s extensive readings to explore some of life’s biggest questions: Where did we come from? Why are we here? And what happens beyond this physical life? \nAlong the way\, discover Cayce’s intriguing perspectives on souls and angels\, pets and elementals\, the spirit world\, reincarnation\, forgiveness\, channeling and inspirational writing\, astrology and more. The class will also compare Cayce’s teachings with A Course in Miracles and explore how his spiritual worldview can deepen our understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe. \nA breakdown of each week’s discussion is outlined below. \nWeek #1: Intro to the Edgar Cayce Readings and Resulting Worldview\nWho was Edgar Cayce\, and what do his thousands of readings reveal about the nature and purpose of our lives? John will introduce the Cayce readings and the spiritual worldview that emerged from them. This introductory session will provide a foundation for the fascinating topics explored throughout the rest of the series. \nWeek #2: Edgar Cayce on Pets\, Angels and Elementals\nWhat is the difference between souls\, angels\, animals and the beings Cayce referred to as “elementals\,” such as fairies and pixies? Explore what Cayce’s readings have to say about these different forms of life and consciousness — and how they interact with and operate in our world. \nWeek #3: Edgar Cayce on How Spirit Manifests in Three Dimensions\nOur experience of “reality” is shaped by life in the physical world — but Cayce’s readings offer a fascinating perspective on existence beyond it. Explore what life may be like on the other side\, how spiritual reality manifests in our three-dimensional world\, and why our earthly perspective can be so different. Graphics and videos will help bring these concepts to life. \nWeek #4: Edgar Cayce Compared to A Course in Miracles\nHow do the teachings of Edgar Cayce compare with those of A Course in Miracles? John will explore the similarities and differences between these two popular spiritual teachings\, including their perspectives on sin\, Jesus\, reincarnation\, forgiveness and more. \nWeek #5: Edgar Cayce on Automatic Writing\, Channeling and Inspirational Writing\nCayce’s readings addressed several ways people have sought communication and guidance from the spirit realm\, including automatic writing\, channeling and inspirational writing. Explore the differences among these practices and discover why Cayce’s readings expressed a strong preference for inspirational writing. \nWeek #6: Edgar Cayce on Astrology\nThere’s much more to astrology than simply knowing your sun sign!
