SUMMARY:Unity Hiking Group: SAVE THE DATE for a Weekend Outing to Chiricahua National Monument
DESCRIPTION:As we come to a close of our 24 / 25 hiking season (October 2024 thru May 2025) and prepare for the kickoff of our 25/26 season in October 2025\, we have a wonderful opportunity lined up.  If you have never hiked the Chiricahua National Monument (see picture below) please don’t miss this opportunity.  If you have hiked the Chiricahuas\, you know what a special opportunity this trip is.  The views are stunning\, wildlife abound and the weather in early October should be great.  The check-in date is Thursday\, October 9th and checking out\, Sunday October 12th with the hiking occurring on Friday & Saturday. \nCamping:  \n\nCampsite: I have a group campsite at the Bonita Canyon Campground.  This campsite can handle up to 24 people and up to 5 vehicles.\nTransportation: Since we are limited to 5 vehicles\, we will definitely need to figure out carpooling or perhaps rent a couple of vans.  I will look into this further.\nCheckin / Checkout: We will check in on Thursday\, October 9th and check out on Sunday\, October 12th.  If you would like to camp and can only be at the campsite some portion of the days\, let me know and I will try to accommodate.\nCost: Camping cost is $10 per person per night.\n\nLodging: \n\nWilcox is the closest town with lodging to the Chiricahua National Monument.  Wilcox is about 45 minutes from the Chiricahuas.  There are multiple lodging choices ranging from $85 per night to $160 per night.\nI am looking for someone to be the lodging coordinator for this trip.  If you are planning on going and staying in a hotel\, would you be willing to be the point of contact for our group as it relates to lodging?  Please let me know.\n\nHiking: \n\nWe will have all day Friday and Saturday for hiking in the Chiricahuas.  There are many beautiful hikes to explore. As we get closer\, I will be identifying specific options for us to hike.\n\nRSVP: \n\nI expect this hike / camping / lodging trip to fill up fast.  Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan on participating.\nLet me know the following information in your response:\n\nWill you be camping or lodging?\nIf lodging\, are you willing to be the point person for those people lodging on this trip?\nWill you be coming for all of the days or a subset?  If a subset\, which days?\nWill it be just you or will you be coming with someone(s) else?
