Spiritual Resilience in a Chaotically Exhausting World

This class meets on three consecutive Tuesdays: Oct. 6, 13 & 20 from 7-8:30 p.m.
The $45 class fee covers all three sessions
This three-session course explores how the foundational Unity Principles—brought into contemporary life by Ellen Debenport—can help us navigate an increasingly complicated, noisy and high-stress world.
Grounded in the reality that current events and modern life can feel overwhelming, the course bridges the gap between everyday challenges and our divine connection within. This is a zero-toxic-positivity space: We won’t pretend the chaos isn’t there or judge anyone for feeling angry, anxious or worn down.
Following the “Jesus Baseline”—the understanding that authentic spirituality includes radical honesty and, when appropriate, flipping tables—this course offers practical strategies and spiritual practices to help participants move from fear and panic toward curiosity, balance, equanimity and purposeful action.
Each session is a two-hour class designed to stand alone while also contributing to a complete three-part journey:
Week 1: The Everyday Hassle vs. the Divine Spark
Where is “the Good” hiding when we are understandably exhausted and worn down by the constant havoc of daily life—and how can we connect with it without bypassing reality? Grounded in Unity Principles 1 and 2, we will explore how recognizing an all-good, ever-present God—and understanding that we are created in God’s image—reveals our inherent divinity and co-creative nature, helping us reclaim our spark in an exhausting world.
Week 2: Getting Unstuck from a “Forever Problem”—The Power of Prayer and Imagination
How do we respond to obstacles that feel as though they may never go away? Grounded in Unity Principles 3 and 4, we will explore creative thinking, affirmative prayer and meditation as practical tools for accessing our inner guidance, quieting the deafening noise around us and redirecting our attention toward what we truly want to create and experience.
Week 3: Confrontation Through Curiosity, Not Panic
How can we face difficult realities without being overtaken by fear? Grounded in Unity Principles 3 and 5, we will explore how to maintain equanimity, accept what is actually happening and replace fear-driven panic with constructive curiosity. We will focus on moving spiritual principles off the page and into meaningful action—rebuilding human connection, fostering local collaboration and discovering “what is mine to do.”
