DESCRIPTION:As most of you are aware\, we are embarking on an exciting journey to build a new Fellowship and Welcome Center: a warm\, inviting space where we can enjoy connection and community indoors.\nRev. Richard Maraj will be hosting two Informational Meetings where congregants can come to learn more about our plans for this exciting project! The dates of those meetings are: \n\nSunday\, March 30\, 12:30-2pm\nSunday\, April 27\, 12:30-2pm\n\nBoth meetings will be held in the Fillmore Meeting Room (6/7) on the second floor of the Administration Building. Light hors d’ouerves will be served. \nThe purpose of the meeting is to inform\, share\, discuss\, and provide ideas and feedback about the Fellowship and Welcome Center. To help bring that vision to life\, we will also share our initial conceptual photos of the new building. \nThis new space will help increase opportunities for congregants to chat\, visit\, connect\, create new friends and enjoy a greater feeling of community before and after services. We will also be able to use the space during the week for classes\, meetings and other activities. \nWe want all of our congregants to be fully informed about our plans for the new building and building fund campaign. The more we know\, the more excited we all will be … and the more motivated to engage in the process\, as well. This will be a huge blessing for our ministry\, but will take the faith\, intention\, desire\, effort and enthusiasm of all of us to make happen! \nPlease join us at one or both of these meetings!

There is a bit of highway noise along the trail\, but the landscapes are gorgeous\, making you almost forget how close to civilization you are. The terrain is quite rocky in some sections\, and it is advised to wear sturdy shoes. This trail is multi-use and used by hikers\, trail runners\, and mountain bikers. \nDogs: Dogs on a leash are welcome

Turn north / right onto Castle Hot Springs Road. Drive to the end of the paved road and turn right onto Castle Creek Drive for the pay station at the NORTH ENTRANCE (DO NOT GO TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE). There is a fee of $7 per vehicle or a Maricopa Pass. Turn right on Cottonwood Lane and follow (about ¼ mile) to the end for the parking lot and bathrooms on the right. If interested in carpooling\, please contact me. A good carpooling spot is the McDonald’s at Carefree Highway and I-17. If interested\, contact me. \nHike Description: After a narrow\, rocky\, and continuous gentle upward climb to the top of Yavapai point\, there are beautiful 360-degree views from the top. DESCRIPTION:Learn to Save a Life with CPR\, the Heimlich\, and an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)\nWhen someone suffers from cardiac arrest\, quick action by bystanders with CPR knowledge can increase the survival rate of the victim by 80%. Sadly\, national statistics show that only 15-30% of cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR\, primarily because people aren’t trained to provide it. \nThat’s why we’re bringing in Lori Stauffer from the Scottsdale Fire Department to teach us this life-saving skill! CPR is EASY to learn\, and mouth-to-mouth is no longer required; you’ll learn the hands-only technique. In addition\, you’ll learn how to do the Heimlich for choking victims; how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED); and what to do in case of bleeding emergencies. \nThis is not an official certification class\, but participants will receive a certificate of attendance. \nWill you be ready when a family member\, friend\, elderly parent or co-worker needs help? Afterward\, for those who are interested\, we’ll try to gather at a nearby coffeehouse to wind down and share fellowship! \nAge requirement is 12 years with an adult and 16+ without an adult. Dress Code: Sneakers or boots only. No sandals\, flip flops\, crocs\, flats\, or any shoe with an exposed foot. All shirts must have a short or long sleeve (no tank tops). You are encouraged to leave belongings at home\, but lockers will be available if needed. There is plenty of water for our volunteers. No beverages other than water are allowed in the working areas.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 1st – De La Cruz Residence to Great Horned Owl Loop \nDate/Time: Saturday\, February 1\, 2025 Meet at the De La Cruzes at 9:00am \nHike Leader: Laurie De La Cruz\, please RSVP to groundy@ecorridor.com \nArea: Union Hills \nTrail Name: Great Horned Owl \nMap: (see below) \nDistance: 4.75 miles \nElevation Change: 600’ \nDifficulty: Moderate \nAddress/Directions: We will start at the home of Frank & Laurie De La Cruz – 26008 N 11th Ave\, Phoenix  85085 \nNorth on 5th Ave from Happy Valley.  Go .8 miles and turn left on Briles. Go .2 miles and turn left on 11th Ave. (“11 Av” sign on telephone pole).  Go south .1 mile.  Go absolutely straight instead of following the slight left of the black top; turn right onto the dirt road (“26008” sign on the fence).  That road dead ends at Laurie and Frank’s house. \nHike Description: The Great Horned Owl trail makes a big loop around Union Peak. The first part of the loop has a few stretches that are pretty steep and fairly rocky as it climbs along the north side of the peak. \n(Optional – TBD when we get to this point – After reaching the Union Peak Trail (UP) – a nice 1/2 mile side trip with several steep switchbacks to the summit. You’re rewarded with excellent views of Deer Valley and in all directions. There is also a book to sign at the summit).  From the Union Peak trail\, the trail drops a couple of hundred feet and loops around the southside of Union Peak. Views of the neighborhoods to the south and east are seen as the trail moderates and winds back and forth around the peak. Don’t be fooled however\, it still has lots of ups and downs through numerous washes as you round the southwest side of Union Peak. \nDogs: Welcome on a leash

Kings Ranch Road exit\, turn left. Go 2.8 mi and turn right on E. Baseline Ave. Go 0.2 mi to S Mohican Rd and turn left. Go 0.4mi and turn left on E Valley View Dr. Go 0.5 mi and turn right on E Cloudview Ave. Go 0.5 mi and the trailhead is on the left. \nHike Description: This out-and-back hike is an excellent hiking route that takes you through Hieroglyphic Canyon in the Superstition Wilderness. During the spring\, the trail is adorned with beautiful wildflowers\, and it has a gentle uphill grade. As you make your way towards the boulder-filled canyon\, you’ll encounter year-round pools of water. The trail eventually leads you to the petroglyphs\, which are believed to have been created by the Hohokam people who lived in the area about 1\,500 years ago. \nDogs: Welcome on a leash
