(OCJ recommends spending between $25–$35 per gift.) Return your unwrapped gift to the Outreach Table no later than Sunday\, Nov. 30. \nEvery gift you provide will light up a young person’s holiday — and remind them that they are seen\, valued and loved.

Richard Maraj as we visit Unity congregants Alan and Mary Travis’ personal collection of more than 20 vintage vehicles including: bicycles\, motorcycles\, and automobiles dating from 1882 to 1915. (Fun fact: they are all still drivable!) There are also automobilia\, historic racing trophies and a phonograph that plays a “talking” wax cylinder. You can also see the shop where the vehicles are restored! \nDoors open at 6:30 p.m. (not before!); presentation about the history and evolution of transportation\, based on the collection\, begins promptly at 7 p.m. A Q&A session will follow the presentation at 8:15 p.m. Doors close at 9 p.m. \nCapacity is limited to 45 people\, so reservations are mandatory.

From Hwy 51\, take the Northern Avenue exit and turn east. The road will take you right into the parking lot for Dreamy Draw. \nDescription:  This beautiful route combines two loops centered at the parking area on the east and west sides of Highway 51. There is a bit of highway noise along the trail\, but the landscapes are gorgeous\, making you almost forget how close to civilization you are. The terrain is quite rocky in some sections\, and it is advised to wear sturdy shoes. This trail is multi-use and used by hikers\, trail runners\, and mountain bikers. \nDogs:  Dogs on a leash are welcome \n

DESCRIPTION:This class meets on six consecutive Sundays: Jan. 11-Feb. 15\, 12:30-2:30 p.m.\nThe ticket fee of $75 covers all six sessions\nThe purpose of this course is to practice relating honestly\, beginning with yourself. We’ll start with simple activities that help you connect with your feelings\, needs\, and desires\, and express them in an environment of empathy\, care\, and attentive listening that fosters trust. \nBy honoring our feelings and expressing them openly we feel content with that part of ourselves that previously learned to withhold and therefore withdraw from relationships. When our relationships become authentic\, we create a genuine\, secure connection that is valued. Authentic relationships radiate confidence and earn respect and trust. \nWe’ll explore how using simple communication techniques strengthens our bond and connection with ourselves\, first\, and then naturally extends to others. We’ll also practice making simple\, clear\, concise\, and direct requests—and then letting go of the outcome. In doing so\, we will be building unity with one another. \nAlthough we are not using an assigned book\, we will draw from a variety of resources\, including Dr. Gail Brenner\, Drs. Gay and Katie Hendricks\, Dr. David Viscott\, Terry Real and Dr. Gabor Maté.
