Hiking Group Event: Phoenix Mountain Preserve Loop Trails

This is a wonderful loop hike that starts from the parking area at the far end of East Piestewa Peak Drive in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.

Address/Directions: 304 Trailhead (The furthest east parking area on E Piestewa Dr.) 7200 E. Piestewa Peak Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85016 (Use “Piestewa Nature Trail” in Apple Maps & “7200 Piestewa Peak Dr.” in Google Maps.)
From Highway 51, take the Glendale Ave. exit heading east. (This road soon becomes E Lincoln drive at the first bend to the right.) Proceed a total of 0.7 miles and turn left onto E. Piestewa Peak Rd. Follow this road past the park entrance to the furthest parking area.
Meeting Location: The ramadas located just off the parking area.
Description: This is a wonderful, moderately challenging loop hike (yes, with a bit of huffing and puffing). The landscape is gorgeous, making you almost forget how close to civilization you are. The terrain is rocky in some sections, and it is advised to wear sturdy shoes. This trail is multi-use and used by hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers.
Dogs: Dogs on a leash are welcome.
