Amanda Sue Briggs — one of our congregants — with one of her favorite outreach activities: packing food boxes for the charity organization\, Feed My Starving Children. To help facilitate this event\, Unity of Phoenix is directing a portion of its monthly tithe ($2\,000) to cover 40 volunteer spots. \nBecause we have only 40 spots available\, you MUST RSVP to hold a spot. \nWe’ll be hand-packing rice\, soy\, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed\, boxed\, placed on pallets and shipped to incredible partners who distribute the food to children who need it around the world. \nThrough volunteering at FMSC\, you’ll get the chance to impact hundreds of kids in just two hours\, and experience what it’s like to make a tangible difference in the world. And you’ll have the chance to celebrate Rev. Amanda Sue in an extraordinary way.

The dates of those meetings are: \nThe meeting will be held in the Fillmore Meeting Room (6/7) on the second floor of the Administration Building. A light lunch will be served. \nThe purpose of the meeting is to inform\, share\, discuss\, and provide ideas and feedback about the Fellowship and Welcome Center. To help bring that vision to life\, we will also share our initial conceptual photos of the new building. \nThis new space will help increase opportunities for congregants to chat\, visit\, connect\, create new friends and enjoy a greater feeling of community before and after services. We will also be able to use the space during the week for classes\, meetings and other activities. \nWe want all of our congregants to be fully informed about our plans for the new building and building fund campaign. The more we know\, the more excited we all will be … and the more motivated to engage in the process\, as well. Stacy to cultivate a better community for all by planting fruits and vegetables with other community-minded souls! We’ll get our hands dirty by planting\, weeding and harvesting produce\, and also learn about gardening techniques\, sustainable living and organic farming. \nThe TigerMountain Foundation uses community gardens as a tool to improve lives and build stronger communities. They teach practical life skills to at-risk kids\, adults and seniors\, keeping them out of jail\, and improving their lives and community. The Garden also provides fresh fruits and vegetables to for a homeless pantry. \n  \n

There is a bit of highway noise along the trail\, but the landscapes are gorgeous\, making you almost forget how close to civilization you are. The terrain is quite rocky in some sections\, and it is advised to wear sturdy shoes. This trail is multi-use and used by hikers\, trail runners\, and mountain bikers. \nDogs: Dogs on a leash are welcome
