DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 1st – De La Cruz Residence to Great Horned Owl Loop \nDate/Time: Saturday\, February 1\, 2025 Meet at the De La Cruzes at 9:00am \nHike Leader: Laurie De La Cruz\, please RSVP to groundy@ecorridor.com \nArea: Union Hills \nTrail Name: Great Horned Owl \nMap: (see below) \nDistance: 4.75 miles \nElevation Change: 600’ \nDifficulty: Moderate \nAddress/Directions: We will start at the home of Frank & Laurie De La Cruz – 26008 N 11th Ave\, Phoenix  85085 \nNorth on 5th Ave from Happy Valley.  Go .8 miles and turn left on Briles. Go .2 miles and turn left on 11th Ave. (“11 Av” sign on telephone pole).  Go south .1 mile.  Go absolutely straight instead of following the slight left of the black top; turn right onto the dirt road (“26008” sign on the fence).  That road dead ends at Laurie and Frank’s house. \nHike Description: The Great Horned Owl trail makes a big loop around Union Peak. The first part of the loop has a few stretches that are pretty steep and fairly rocky as it climbs along the north side of the peak. \n(Optional – TBD when we get to this point – After reaching the Union Peak Trail (UP) – a nice 1/2 mile side trip with several steep switchbacks to the summit. You’re rewarded with excellent views of Deer Valley and in all directions. There is also a book to sign at the summit).  From the Union Peak trail\, the trail drops a couple of hundred feet and loops around the southside of Union Peak. Views of the neighborhoods to the south and east are seen as the trail moderates and winds back and forth around the peak. Don’t be fooled however\, it still has lots of ups and downs through numerous washes as you round the southwest side of Union Peak. \nDogs: Welcome on a leash

Stacy invites you to join her for an outreach day making a difference in our community! \nSt. Mary’s Food Bank\nEmergency Food Box Packing\nFriday\, Feb. 7 • 12:45-3 p.m.\n2831 North 31st Avenue\, Phoenix\, 85009\nYou MUST RSVP for this activity by filling out the form below no later than Monday\, Feb. 3 \nJoin Rev. Stacy Macris Ros to pack emergency food boxes that will be distributed throughout Arizona to families needing assistance! \nOrientation begins promptly at 12:45pm\, and the session will run until 3pm. Afterward\, for those who are interested\, we’ll try to gather at a nearby coffeehouse to wind down and share fellowship! \nAge requirement is 12 years with an adult and 16+ without an adult. Dress Code: Sneakers or boots only. No sandals\, flip flops\, crocs\, flats\, or any shoe with an exposed foot. All shirts must have a short or long sleeve (no tank tops). You are encouraged to leave belongings at home\, but lockers will be available if needed. There is plenty of water for our volunteers. No beverages other than water are allowed in the working areas.

Turn right on Baseline road and go 0.9 mi.  Turn left on 46th street and go 0.3 mi to the trailhead. \nHike Description: This loop trail starts from the Beverly Canyon Trailhead and follows the Javelina Canyon Trail which runs alongside a seasonal stream. At the intersection\, the trail then turns onto the Ridgeline Trail and heads back to the trailhead\, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and south Phoenix. SUMMARY:Understanding and Healing Your Grief - 7-Week Grief Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The $105 fee covers all seven sessions.\nIf you are experiencing unresolved grief\, this workshop is one way to help resolve it. The six-week workshop combines bereavement education and spiritual support for people experiencing grief from a personal loss. \nIt is important to have a desire for a greater understanding of your grief and a willingness to personally work and move through the grief process toward peace and healing. DESCRIPTION:With all the devastating events that have taken place recently (plane crashes\, fires\, school shootings\, etc.)\, we wanted to open a space where congregants could release their feelings in a safe and prayerful space. \nRev. Stacy Macris Ros will facilitate this “Heart Share” circle\, and Revs. Jimmie Scott and Sandy Hopper will also be present to pray and hold sacred space. During the circle\, people can speak uninterrupted from their heart. The circle will open and close with prayer and will have clear guidelines for participating (examples: no advice given or interruptions or follow-up outside of the circle\, etc). \nPlease join us for this sacred\, cleansing time of release!
