Unity Hiking Group Outing: Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail
Wednesday, March 25, 2026, A Hike Based Upon the Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail
The Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail is a wonderful loop hike located at the nearby Lookout Mountain section of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. As compared to the 2.4-mile trail as published on All-Trails, this hike will start at the parking lot in the south-eastern corner of the park, and hike leader, Jane Boyd, also intends to increase the total distance to 4-5 miles. She has also indicated that this hike will not include a climb to the top of Lookout Mountain.

Address/Directions: The parking lot near the southeast corner of Lookout Mountain Park : 1898 E. Evans Drive, Phoenix, AZ
There is a Harley-Davidson shop on Cave Creek Road located about halfway between Thunderbird Rd. & Greenway Pkwy, at the northeast corner of E. Sharon Rd. From here, proceed westbound on E. Sharon Road for 0.4 miles and make a right onto N. 18th Street. Proceed 0.5 miles north to the park entrance on the right at E. Evans Road. The parking lot is straight ahead.
Meeting Location: The rock garden on the right side of the parking lot.
Description: From All-Trails: (4.6 stars) “Highlights include beautiful views, well-marked paths, and a moderate challenge. Rocky terrain and loose gravel are mentioned as obstacles. Reviewers recommend bringing water and wearing hiking boots. ”
Amenities/Inconveniences: Drinking fountains, restrooms, and shade structures.
