Prayer Chaplain Interest Meeting

Is Spirit calling you to become a Prayer Chaplain?

There will be two Interest Meetings:
Sunday, August 16, 12:45pm in the Freeman Meeting Room (8)
AND
Sunday, Sept. 20, 12:45pm in the Butterworth Meeting Room (9/10)

If you feel called to serve others through the ministry of prayer, we invite you to attend one of our upcoming Prayer Chaplain Interest Meetings. This orientation is the first step toward becoming a Prayer Chaplain and is required for anyone wishing to participate in the training program.

Not sure if this role is right for you? That’s exactly what the Interest Meeting is for. Come explore what it means to serve as a Prayer Chaplain, learn about the training process and ask any questions you may have. There is no obligation to continue beyond the meeting—just an opportunity to discern whether this sacred ministry is calling you.

Prayer Chaplains play a vital role in the spiritual life of our community, offering compassionate prayer support and pastoral care to those in need. While the commitment is significant, so are the rewards. Again and again, our Prayer Chaplains share that although they entered the ministry hoping to bless others, they discovered that they were the ones most profoundly transformed.

Serving as a Prayer Chaplain is sacred soul work. It deepens your own spiritual practice, strengthens your prayer life and provides an opportunity to become a greater expression of God’s love in the lives of others. If you’re ready to grow spiritually while making a meaningful difference, we encourage you to come learn more.

Please note: You must be a Unity of Phoenix member to serve as a Prayer Chaplain.

What is the role of a Prayer Chaplain?

The role of our Prayer Chaplains is, quite simply, to pray. Chaplains are not counselors or advice-givers. The core of the Prayer Chaplain commitment is to:
• Hold spiritual space
• Lovingly listen
• Pray from the heart
• Hold in confidence what is shared

No previous experience praying with people is required; we will provide all the traning you require!

Please note the training schedule provided below, and plan your calendar accordingly, as attendance at all of the training sessions is required for anyone who wishes to become a Prayer Chaplain.
