Local & Regional Activities for UofP Teens

Local. There is only so much time in a class setting to get acquainted and learn about one another, so we offer Unity of Phoenix teens local activities to help them discover who they are and bond together.

Local activities not only help to create a bond between the teens, but also provide a place for parents to connect. It’s a great way to build community. There are basic attendance requirements that a teen needs to meet in order to participate in these events.

Region is made up of Unity Church’s in Arizona, southern Nevada and southern California.

Regional. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in our Uniteen or Y.O.U. program. Those actively involved in good standing in our Teen Group qualify to participate in local and Southwest Region retreats, camps and conferences with teens from other Unity groups.

Costs. Out-of-pocket costs range from $3-20 for a local outing or $12-30 for an overnight event, to $75-125 for a weekend retreat/rally and $300-450 for Uniteen Camp or Y.O.U. Summer Connections or about $600 for The International Conference.

We believe that a teen who has shown a commitment to their spiritual growth should not miss out on important retreats. To help support that if an event still poses a financial challenge, please check with the Teen Ministry Coordinator to see if event fees can be waived or scholarship money is available.

ALL TEENS — July & August—

UNITEENS — July & August—
Two Sundays: July 18 and 25 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.	Backpack Drive Uniteens will collect new or gently used backpacks for the Homebase Teen Homeless Shelter.The backpacks will be filled with water bottles, socks, underwear and toiletries and then taken to teens on the streets.

Friday, July 30 • 7 to 10 p.m.	Unity Movie Night The Uniteens will sell popcorn.

Sun., Aug. 1 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.	Parent/Teen Orientation for 5th Graders (who are moving up to Uniteens) Graduated 5th graders and their parents will receive a brief overview of the Uniteen Program.

Sun, Aug. 8 11:15 a.m.	Uniteen Move-Up Day for New 6th Graders Youth entering 6th grade in the upcoming school year will move up and attend their first Uniteen class on this day.

Sun, Aug 8 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. Worship Services	Sunday Worship Collection The Uniteens will assist with collecting the offering.

Sunday, August 15 12:30 p.m. Offsite	Uniteen Bowling Party with New 6th Graders

Sun., Aug. 22 12:45 to 2:30 p.m.	Rites of Passage Orientation Parents and interested teens get an overview of the ‘Rites of Passage’ program. (An explanation of this unique program in the box in the lower left portion of this page.) Lunch will be provided.
Y.O.U.er's — July & August —
Friday, July 2-Thursday, July 8	Summer Connection Special selected Y.O.U.ers attend this leadership summer camp program in Santa Barbara, California.

Sunday, July 18 Hospitality Tent	Sunday Hospitality Our Y.O.U.ers will be serving refreshments in the Courtyard.

Sunday, July 18 1 to 3 p.m. Offsite	Y.O.U. Senior Bowling and Lunch Party The Y.O.U.ers will host a party for their four graduated seniors (Parker Groves, Brady Ormsby, Nikki Peterson and Quacy Skinner).

Sunday, Aug1 11:15 a.m.	Y.O.U. Move-Up Day for New 9th Graders Youth entering 9th grade in the upcoming school year will move up from Uniteens to Y.O.U., and will attend their first Y.O.U. class on this day.

Sun, Aug 1- Fri, Aug 6	International Y.O.U. Event A very committed week of Peace Ambassador Training at Unity Village for select Y.O.U.ers.

Sun, Aug 8 6 to 8 p.m. Offsite	Y.O.U. Sponsor Meeting

Sun, Aug. 8	Y.O.U. Bodacious Outrageous “Get-To” Blast Time and Location to be Determined An event to “get-to” know your fellow Y.O.U.ers.
