Prayer Beads - a Beautiful Way to Help You Pray

prayer beadsHello, Friends!
I love prayer beads! I love their intention, their texture, their color, their weight ... just love ‘em, love ‘em, love ‘em!!! That said, I will be the first to admit that discipline (of any sort) is not my strong suit, so my love of prayer beads is not necessarily based on my daily (weekly, monthly …) use of them.

I like to look at prayer beads and hold them and think about what a powerful tool for an affirmation practice they would be if only I would do more than look, hold and think!!!

We just received a beautiful selection of finger malas (the Hindi word for prayer beads). These are short strands of beads with a finger loop that allows you to hold and touch the beads with the same hand. They come in patterns of 12 beads (the metaphysical number symbolizing fulfillment) and a pattern of 3 sets of 3 beads (symbolizing the wholeness of the Divine).

Regina Best, our Chaplain Coordinator, says that, “using short, simple prayers or statements of spiritual Truth, spoken as you hold each bead on the strand, can focus, and therefore calm, the mind. This repetition can also regulate the breathing, which can lower anxiety and stress.” Regina has her own finger mala strand, which she uses frequently. Our new finger malas are made from gemstones and seed beads.

The stones and their properties are:
• Amethyst: Spiritual Opening
• Black Onyx: Oneness
• Carnelian: Honoring the Feminine
• Crazy Lace Agate: A Healthy Life
• Green Adventurine: A Peaceful Heart
• Green (Moss) Agate: Prosperity
• Lapis: Mental Clarity
• Red Jasper: Sacred Sexuality
• Rose Quartz: Healing
• Sodalite: Supports Intuition
• Tiger Eye: Protection
• Tree Agate: Harmony

These are truly beautiful. They come with a gift box, explanation of malas and bead pattern, and with an affirmation card to match the spiritual property. These would be great gifts for Mom, a graduate, a good friend or especially for yourself.

Hope you like our Prayer Beads as much as I do!!!

Blessings
